I'm BACK...Now where have I been???

To all the Swimmers, Coaches, and Parents...
I'm back.

As Coach Ed Denny has said over the last couple of months; "When are you gonna write another post?".

In answering that I need to back up a bit.

3 teams, 3 seasons, 52 meets.  Over 200 swimmers. 8 months of important practices.  I would love to have figured the overall yardage but that may make my head explode.  I guess I got busy, focused and neglected the one thing that I needed to remember...this Blog.  I received many emails over the last 9 months from swimmers looking for help but I am sure a lot of you looked to this blog to help you out or to use a post to help you.  For that I am sorry and make a "pledge" to be more diligent in posting.  I measure success not in wins (there were a bunch) or championships (a few of those too...) but I look at the success and improvements in my swimmers.  When I look back over those 3 seasons all I can say is WOW.

Now when I say "my" swimmers I need to clarify that I am blessed to be working with coaches that I assist or they assist me during the year and we all are a part of a great staff.  I cannot claim to be the sole reason for their success.

The redeeming thread throughout the last 8 months was that the success that all of them had affirmed everything that my coaching is based on.

Swim Smart + Have Fun = Swim Fast.

I was blessed to work with so many gifted swimmers that were eager to learn and work hard.  Over the course of the next 3 weeks I hope to relate some things I have experience and learned.  There were bumps in the road and moments of triumph.

I will relate some of the ups and downs.  I want to tell you all about some of the great new things that we tried and how well they worked.

These stories will help some of you get ready for summer camp.  At the same time I will be getting ready to spend 7 weeks away from my home and family working at 2 of the best camps in the country.

I look forward to working with old friends and new acquaintances, creating new experiences as I go.

Enjoy and I look forward to your comments.

Coach Scott
